All On Four Dental Implants in Mexico

What is the All On 4 Treatment?

The term All on 4 Dental Implants treatment in Mexico refers to “all” teeth being supported “on four” titanium dental implants, a surgical and technique odontology procedure for total rehabilitation of the toothless patient or for patients with badly diminished teeth or decayed teeth.

The All-on-4 treatment consists of the replacement of missing teeth, that has a permanent, screw-retained, same-day replacement for the whole lower set of teeth with a bridge or plate.

The procedure is best for patients with important tooth loss or decay and for folks whose bone loss within the jaw space prevents them from obtaining conventionally destined (vertical) dental implants.  For the implementation to achieve success a careful analysis of the bone structure has to be created.

Anatomy of theAll On 4 Mexico

The All-on-4 dental implants treatment concept owes its name to the very nature of the procedure, which consists of applying a dental prosthesis (either snap-on or fixed) with a minimum of twelve teeth fixed on either the upper or lower arch (or both), based only on four titanium implants.

Our Process for the All On 4

When only one tooth is missing, it is fairly simple to surgically implant one post and later attach a single crown; however, when multiple teeth are missing, it is cost-prohibitive and too time-consuming to surgically implant multiple teeth. To avoid potential damage to the surrounding tissue and ensure implant posts are placed in areas where they will be the most secure and stable in the bone, a full-mouth scan is necessary.

All On Four Dental Implants use four to six implant posts surgically inserted into the jaw bone. All on Four Dental Implants can hold a full row of teeth on four implanted posts. Temporary prosthetic teeth are attached to these posts so that the patient is able to eat during the healing process. As with standard dental implants, after about four to five months and proper healing of the mouth and the bone area where the dental posts were placed, bridge-like teeth are attached to the posts to provide a permanently-placed denture.

Zirconia Vs Porcelain Bridges
The newest and most advanced material for dental bridges is zirconia, which is a stronger and more durable material than porcelain. The main benefit of zirconia over porcelain is that it can handle more biting pressure, back teeth grinding, and never chips or stains.

Implant Failure

There is a risk that All-on-4 dental implants can fail. This happens in about 5 percent of patients. It occurs when the implants do not fuse with the bone, primarily due to patients not waiting the required healing time, poor hygiene, or drinking alcohol.  Most of the time, this can be resolved with a new implant.

Reducing this risk is hard to do since the dentist, and researchers don’t always know why one implant fails, and others do not.  However, if the patient follows all care instructions before and after the dental implants procedure, it’s less likely to occur. This means maintaining good oral hygiene, eating soft foods, and avoiding smoking.

The Risk of Infection

Any type of surgery carries a risk of infection. Good dentists do everything necessary to minimize this risk. However, infections do occur for various reasons. One of the most common results is the existence of peri-implantitis, a type of infection.

Knowing the signs, like the following, is a good way to get the help you need:

  • The dental implants are loose or wobbly
  • Bad breath
  • A bad taste in the mouth
  • Gums that are puffy, red, and inflamed around the dental implants
  • Pus exists in the gums
  • Fever
  • Excessive bleeding while brushing
